Denis Lambert and Craig Nuttycombe established the musical duo Lambert and Nuttycombe in late 1967 after meeting when they were both in Los Angeles area bands. They initially signed with Electra Records but were later contracted to A&M Records. Craig had been a member of the surf band The New Dimensions in the early sixties.

Their debut album At Home was co-produced by David Anderle, Glyn Johns, and Chad Stuart. Now sharing a home in Sausalito, they were recorded to tape by Wally Heider's mobile unit. Released in 1970, At Home featured the duo on acoustic guitars and their superb harmony vocals. They toured the west coast of the United States and later opened for Canned Heat on their European tour.

After being dropped from A&M, Lambert and Nuttycombe signed with 20th Century Records for their second album, As You Will. Produced by Keith Olsen and recorded at Sound City Studios, the album included guitarist Waddy Wachtel. It was also the first recording session for a young Lindsey Buckingham. More folk-rock than At Home, As You Will would feature many stellar studio musicians, including Craig's father Gary on viola. Upon completion in 1973, Lambert and Nuttycombe would part ways.

Denis would leave the music business altogether and move to Georgia. He became the musical director of his church.

Craig would record his first solo album at Olympic Sound Studios in London during 1978 on A&M Records. It's Just A Lifetime was produced by Glyn Johns and Andy Fairweather Low. The two assembled a wonderful group of English studio musicians in support of him. He has continued to release solo albums throughout the years. Available at craignuttycombe.com

Denis and Craig got together in 1993 in the studio to record several songs. Unfortunately, this would be their last session as Denis would tragically take his own life in 1997.

Over the years, Lambert & Nuttycombe have developed a cult following. With the resurfacing of early demo tapes, the new recordings were first made available in Japan in 2001. Reissues would later be available of At Home and As You Will.
